When you install the CMS 1.8.5 program in Windows 8 you will get an error message that this version of Windows is not supported by WinPcap 4.0.2.

You need to install WinPcap 4.1.2 which is also not compatible with Windows 8, but you can run that version in Compatibility mode for Windows 7 under Windows 8, and this will allow CMS to run.

To install WinPcap 4.1.2 type winpcap into a search engine to find the program, then click on the WinPcap – Home link, then click on Download, Get WinPcap, then click on WinPcap 4.1.2 Installer for Windows to download the program.

Go to downloads, right click on the WinPcap 4.1.2 program and go to properties, then click on the compatibility tab, under compatibility mode, select Windows 7, under privilege level select Run this program as an Administrator, and click on OK. Then double click on the WinPcap program to install it.

Now you can install the CMS 1.8.5 program and have it run in Windows 8, although many of the program’s functions still will not work. We are currently working to get the program to work with the changes that Microsoft made in Windows 8.

To access the QT series DVRs from a system running Mac OS you would not install a program, you would install a plug in and access the DVR from the Safari browser. You can download instructions here.
